UDSF

The KSU and MSF student alliance at Government Engineering College Wayanad, standing with every student on campus.

What we do

We stand for student welfare, college development, campus peace, campus democracy, social justice and academic rights.

  • Student welfare

    Hostel, canteen, transport, fees and scholarships. We take everyday problems to the administration and stay on them until they are solved.

  • College development

    Better buildings, labs, roads and lighting for GEC Wayanad, pushed through the college, the MLA and the government.

  • Campus peace

    A campus without violence or intimidation, where every student can study, speak and take part without fear.

  • Campus democracy

    Free and fair union elections, and a real say for students in the decisions that shape their college.

  • Social justice

    Secular, inclusive politics that stands with every student, whatever their religion, caste, gender or background.

  • Academic rights

    Exams, results, attendance and KTU issues, raised with the college and the university and followed until fixed.

Started six student clubs

Initiated the Literary Club, Drawing Club, Dance Club, Music Club, Film Club and Karma, creating more ways for students to take part in campus life.

    Brought a new bus to college

    Secured a new college bus, answering students’ call for better transport.

    Brought generator facilities to the hostels, giving students backup power.

    Installed a new college nameboard

    Replaced the old, damaged college nameboard with a renewed sign for Government Engineering College Wayanad.

  • Campus publications

    Created the first web magazine

    Launched the first web magazine at GEC Wayanad, a place for students’ writing and stories.

    Produced the first audiobook at GEC Wayanad, bringing the web magazine’s writing and stories to audio.

    Installed new lights on LH2 road

    New lights installed on the LH2 road following UDSF’s intervention, addressing the lack of lighting on the route.

    Improved the road to MH

    Gravel laid along the road to the men’s hostel, improving a difficult stretch of the everyday journey.

    Seating introduced in department corners, making more room for students to meet, talk and spend time together.

Brought the German Consulate to campus

Brought the German Consulate team to campus for an interactive session with participation from KASE.

  • Campus lighting

    Took the campus lighting request to the MLA and PWD. Approval received for a low-mast light; follow-up continues towards installation.

    Working towards a practice facility with the Wayanad District Cricket Association. An MoU is ready; construction remains pending.

Muslim Students Federation

The student wing of the Indian Union Muslim League, with a strong presence in colleges throughout Kerala.
